I think it’s time we start speaking up about salaries in Lebanon, bc this is genuinely getting out of hand.
And no, “hayda l mawjoud” is not a justification anymore.
We shouldn’t have to normalize salaries that barely cover the cost of getting to work. (literally, how are y'all doing with the gas prices?!!!)

This shouldn't be normalized. Everything is exponentially getting more expensive and companies should take inflation rates into consideration. For recruiters, HR, policy setters in companies: a way to stay up to date with the changes in economy and inflation is to set a 6 months to 1 year inflation rate increase "bonus" usually 5-10% to all salaries.
Unfortunately, companies are taking advantage of the growing number of people looking for jobs while vacancies remain limited. They know that many candidates are willing to accept almost any salary just to cover their expenses and provide for their families. And that’s exactly what allows companies to offer extremely low salaries and call it a “win.” But when someone accepts a low salary because they have no other choice, that shouldn’t be seen as a win it’s a reflection of how challenging the job market has become.
Nothing's gonna change if everyone is still accepting these low terms.. just saying.
